We love when an adoption feels like a match made in heaven, and that was certainly the case with Reba and Paige! Reba was transferred to Five Acres from a rural shelter where she was treated for heart worms. A survivor, like her namesake, Reba was on the mend and ready to find her forever home.

Reba was having a little trouble recovering from her spay surgery (hence her sassy t-shirt to keep her from licking her incision) so she spent most of her days in our Canine Manager's office near our front desk area. When Paige came in looking for a canine companion, it didn't take long for her to lock eyes with Reba and make a connection. They were able to spend some time together, and we are so grateful Paige decided to make Reba a permanent part of her family!

Adoption stories like this never get old, and we are continually grateful for each and every person who chooses adoption. Happy tails, Reba!

Five Acres is completely out of wet kitten food! We are purchasing it as needed, but we are asking our community to help us by donating as well. Cans of wet kitten food can be brought to the shelter during our open hours of 2-6 Tuesday-Friday and 12-6 Saturday and Sunday, or it can be purchased from our Amazon Wish List and sent directly to the shelter. Thank you in advance!

Who can resist that face?? While doing her wellness check after being transferred to Five Acres, we sadly discovered that Molly is heartworm positive and will need immediate treatment. Treatment for this condition in canines is long, uncomfortable, and overall unpleasant - the shelter is no place for a dog to have to go through this. We are hoping there is a home out there willing to take in Molly and keep her calm and comfortable while she goes through treatment. She is dog-friendly and could go to a home with another dog, but it would need to be dog who is laid back and will let her have her space while she recovers. Molly is a more shy girl, but with a little time she opens up into the sweet snuggle-bug she is.
