Join us on Saturday, June 17th from 8:00 - 12:00 in the parking lot at Five Acres Animal Shelter for the best deal of the year on pet supplies! We'll be selling treats, toys, leashes, collars, harnesses, clothing, supplies and more for at least 50% off regular retail prices. On top of these great deals, you'll also be supporting the dogs and cats at Five Acres Animal Shelter with your purchase. We hope to see you there!

127 MORE ANIMALS HAVE FOUND THEIR FUR-EVER HOME!

We are so happy to report that 84 cats and 43 dogs were placed into loving homes in the month of May. That means that as of May 31st, 469 cats and 199 dogs have been adopted, putting us on pace for another record-setting year! This would not be possible without the support of our community, and the many amazing families who have stepped up and chosen adoption. Thank you! 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AUCTION ITEMS!

Our 50th Anniversary Golden Paw Gala is coming up on Saturday, July 29th at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, and we are looking for auction items! Hotel stays, airline miles, gift cards, wine and liquor, tickets to events or games, timeshares, and experiences all make for great auction items that will generate much-needed revenue for the shelter. MEET GIANA!

Hello! My name is Giana and I am looking for a forever home! I was surrendered to Granite City Animal Control when my previous owner got evicted from her home. I was transferred here and after getting fixed I was sent to a foster home to heal and relax.

According to my foster, I am a very sweet, mischievous, playful girl, but am shy at first. Since I like my quiet time, I would probably do best in a home with no small kids. It takes time for me to adjust to new surroundings and people, so please be patient while I transition into my new home. When I am comfortable with my environment, I am a sweet girl that would love to hang out with you while you work or relax! As long as you have a couch and a lap, I'm a happy girl.

Dislikes: Small Children, Wet Food, Sudden Movements

FIVE ACRES CONTINUES TO BRING IN DOGS FROM LOCAL SHELTERS

Five Acres Animal Shelter brings in animals from two main sources: owner surrenders, and transfers from other shelters. Just this week, Five Acres was able to welcome in eight dogs from other area shelters: St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center, APA-Olivette, and the City of St. Charles Animal Shelter. Transferring animals from other shelters, especially those that are over-crowded and at their maximum capacity, not only helps that animal have a continued chance at being adopted, but it frees up a kennel space in that shelter for another animal to be rescued. With the continuous over-population of animals in our community, we are happy to be able to work together with local shelters to ensure every animal is safe, sound, and homeward bound.
