Once per month, a pet-owner experiencing financial challenges can come to the pantry to receive a month's worth of food and anything else they may need for their pet. This helps to prevent owners from needing to surrender their pets to the shelter due to financial constraints, and allows pets to stay where they belong: with their families. AniMeals is entirely volunteer-run and relies solely on donated food and supplies from the community. We accept donations any time, and can be dropped off in the rainbow donation bin outside our building. We are happy to accept food that has been opened, is in a new container, or that is nearing its expiration date, in addition to donations of treats, toys, leashes, collars, preventatives, and any other pet supplies. Thank you for helping to serve the community in this way! | | | FIVE ACRES PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ORG TO RESCUE CATS FROM HOARDING CASE | | This week Five Acres Animal Shelter took in 5 cats from a hoarding situation that No Time To Spare Animal Rescue & Sanctuary has been working on for the last few weeks. These partnerships with rescues are critical to lifesaving efforts across the state, especially in rural areas that lack resources. When we are able to take in cats, the rescues can pull more from the hoarders, and more lives are saved. Julie from No Time to Spare brought us some beautiful kitties (the 5 plus Crackle) who will soon be available for adoption! Marissa, one of our Feline Team members, was responsible for intaking the cats and naming some of them. Once we learn more about these cats and ensure they are happy and healthy, they will be available for adoption! | | | A SLUMBER PAW-TY FOR A PURPOSE On Saturday evening a group of Five Acres fanatics spent the whole night in the shelter to help raise money and awareness for shelter pets! Three slept overnight in a dog kennel and another snoozed with the cats on the free-roaming floor of our Kitty Cottage. Each of them participated in fun activities and challenges to help raise money, and also gave their supporters an inside look at what shelter animals go through every day. Lots of fun and little sleep was had, but together we raised over $8,500 for the dogs and cats at Five Acres Animal Shelter! Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and followed along with our slumber paw-ty! | | | NA-"MEOW"-STE - CAT YOGA RETURNS APRIL 3RD! We will be offering another cat yoga class on the main floor of our Kitty Cottage on Monday, April 3! The last class sold out immediately, so be sure to register sooner rather than later. Cheryl Killilea from Changing Lanes Fitness & Nutrition will be leading the class again. Since many of our cats are free roaming, you just may have a buddy during savasana The class will run between 12:15 and 1 PM. Please bring your own mat and register before coming. A $15 donation is requested, which goes right back to support the cats at Five Acres Animal Shelter. | | | | When you make a gift to Five Acres, you are helping to give the highest level of care to animals in need and giving them the chance they deserve to find a forever home. Every single dollar helps accomplish our mission of ending pet homelessness in our community. | | | | | | | Five Acres Animal Shelter 1099 Pralle Lane | Saint Charles, Missouri 63303 636-949-9918 | info@fiveacresanimalshelter.org | | | | | | | | |
